Internal Audit Department is mandated to provide independent, objective assurance and, consulting services designed to add value and improve the University of Nairobi’s system operations, control and governance processes as a service to the university to assist it accomplish its objectives.

To provide an objective appraisal of systems, improve the effectiveness of risk management and assist the management in establishing and maintaining policies and procedures that adequately protect the assets of the University.
