Varsity to host ARUA-Mellon PhD Training Workshop

The University of Nairobi as a beneficiary of the ARUA-MELLON Research Grant, will be hosting a virtual 2-day PhD students training Workshop on Scientific Writing from November 19 to 20, 2020.

The ARUA-MELLON Foundation programme was launched in the academic year 2017/2018 and supports PhD students  and post-doctoral fellowships from five (5) universities affiliated with ARUA (African Research Universities Alliance), which includes the University of Nairobi, University of Ghana, University of Cape Town, University of Witwatersrand and the University of Zimbabwe. All the students are carrying out research on Africa’s Emerging Urban.

This will be the fourth training workshop the ARUA-Mellon graduate training programme will be holding for its PhD candidates.  The workshop will be facilitated by subject experts from across Africa. 

The University of Nairobi is a member of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) which brings together fifteen (15) of the region’s leading universities. It is a network of universities from different countries and different historical backgrounds, but with a common vision: expanding and enhancing significantly the quality of research done in Africa by African researchers to address development challenges of the region.
