Community outreach activity at the Havillah Children’s home

Internal audit department visits a children’s home

The University of Nairobi’s department of Internal Audit led by the director, internal audit, Mr. Kenneth Gitau organized a Community outreach activity at the Havillah Children’s home in Mwiki Kasarani on May 6th 2022 where they donated foodstuff and toiletries to the home. The outreach was in accordance with the FY 2021/2022 Performance contract in which the department was required to visit a children’s home.  

The items were received by the director, Havila children’s home Ms. Evalyn Waithira. Ms. Waithira expressed her gratitude on behalf of the children. “It is a great honor to have you here and we are pleased that you chose us among other homes. Thank you so much for these donations and may you be blessed” said Ms. Waithira.

Director, internal audit also expressed his appreciation to the home for accepting their visit and donations. “We are grateful to the management of Havila Children’s Home for accepting to open its doors to us so that we may visit and share experiences together, said Mr. Kenneth Gitau. 

 “We appreciate the enormous responsibility you have taken in caring for people in need. May God bless you abundantly and may you never lack.”

The deputy director internal audit, Ms. Hannah Ndung’u encouraged the children to work hard and join the university. “You are not different from the other children. The sky is the limit. It’s you to sit down and work hard. We are here to inspire you and tell you that one day you will join the great university.”  

The University of Nairobi cares for its neighbors and other stakeholders who may be either internal or external. The Institution also partners with various stakeholders with a view to make this world a better place to live in for mankind by touching lives.
