Univeristy of Nairobi don, Prof. Raphael Nyonje has been elected president of Kenya University Quality Assurance Network (KuQAN) at the elections held on October 19, 2021.
Prof. Nyonje from the Faculty of Education, replaces Prof. Anne Nangulu, the former Deputy Commission Secretary (Quality Assurance) at CUE and the current Principal, Bomet University College.
KuQAN constitutes quality assurance experts and practitioners in higher education with membership across universities in Kenya. It works closely in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Commission for University Education (CUE) and other international quality assurance networks such as the East African Higher Education Quality Assurance Network (EAQAN) the Quality Assurance arm of the Inter-University Council of East Africa (IUCEA); the African Quality Assurance Network (AfriQAN) of the Association of African University (AAU); International Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), with over 300 member organizations majority of them being Quality Assurance Agencies worldwide.
KuQAN aims to improve the quality of education in Kenyan higher education institutions.
