UoN creates a Disability Mainstreaming Strategic Plan

The disability mainstreaming committee spearheaded a retreat as part of its implementation efforts following the recently established Disability Policy at UoN.
The retreat's goal was to create a strategic plan and visualize the steps toward establishing a Disability Support Centre.


The 2-day retreat was held on October 20-21,2022 at the Kenya Institute of Special Education and resulted in the development of a strategic plan for Disability Mainstreaming at UoN for the years 2023-2028.

Opening Meeting For Sport and Games, Students Sport Activities

On 27th Oct 2022 at 10am, the Internal Audit Department Team A held an opening meeting with the Sports and Games department. Entrance Meeting for Budgetary Compliance (QTR 4) and Exit Meeting for Review of Financial Statements

On Friday 21st Oct, 2022, the Internal Audit Department Team C held an opening meeting with the Finance department. From the Internal Audit department, in attendance was the Team leader Ms.Anna Muruingi who chaired the meeting, Ms.Irene Muihia, Mr.Jared Manono, Mr.Francis Musila. And Ms.Mary Mukuwa.

From Finance department in attendance were Ms. Damaris Kavoi, Mr. Adala Micheal, Mr. Stephen Kiirwa and Mr. Micheal Maenze,

UoN admits 10,000 freshmen for the academic year 2022–2023.

10,000 new students have been admitted to the University of Nairobi.
4,000 Module II students and 6,000 Module I students who were all placed by KUCCPS and who underwent the necessary procedures, including document verification and biometrics.


On September 19, 2022, a physical report was made by the first years.


They will register with the university and go undergo a week-long orientation up until September 25, 2022, on Sunday.

UoN Holds Its 67th Graduation Ceremony

The University of Nairobi has a tradition of honoring its academic achievers through graduation ceremonies, and this year was no exception. On September 23, 2022, the University of Nairobi held its 67th graduation ceremony.
The PhD students' hybrid event, a mix of virtual and onsite ceremonies, was held at the Famous Taifa Hall, the only one of its kind in the country.

Collaboration between UoN and AICAT: Unlocking Food Security Challenge

For a period of 11 months, the University of Nairobi has sponsored an annual internship program for agriculture students in conjunction with the Arava International Centre for Agricultural Training (AICAT).
The center annually teaches more than 1,000 students from academic institutions, mostly in Africa and Asia.
Among the Kenyan institutions that have benefited from the initiative are the University of Nairobi, JKUAT, Egerton University, Kenyatta University, Kenya Water Institute, Turkana County, and Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology.
